Accessibility statement
Our commitment to making this website accessible to everyone.
Last updated: 2 October 2026.
Our commitment
Quayside Medical Practice is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen, navigate most of the website using just a keyboard, navigate most of the website using speech recognition software, and listen to most of the website using a screen reader.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard, due to the known limitations listed below. We are working to address these issues.
Accessibility features
Keyboard navigation
All interactive elements — links, buttons and form fields — can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone. Focus indicators are visible throughout the site.
Screen reader support
Pages use semantic HTML with appropriate headings, landmarks and ARIA labels to help screen reader users understand and navigate the content.
Colour contrast
Text and interactive elements meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
Text resizing
Text can be resized up to 200% using browser settings without loss of content or functionality. The site is also usable when zoomed to 400%.
Alternative text
Images that convey information have descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers can skip them.
Link text
Links use descriptive text that makes sense out of context, so screen reader users can understand where each link goes.
Page titles
Every page has a unique, descriptive title to help users identify where they are.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are working to fix them:
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are reviewing these and will provide accessible alternatives where possible.
- Some embedded third-party content, such as the online contact form, is provided by an external service and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We have asked the provider to improve accessibility.
